That does sound inconvenient, Cathy, especially when online banking is supposed to make life easier for us. You may want to visit the Barclay's website to contact the bank directly with your concerns.

The PINSentry is rubbish - just cannot rely on it Works sometimes, not others. I enter my membership number and get asked for a five digit passcode! Have to say the email response was quite good from Barclays, but still, the system does not work and I do not want to spend a week or so corresponding with the Bank to do a transaction (instant!) online. Get this sorted Barclays!

Sorry you had an unpleasant experience with Barclays, George. Our site isn't associated with the bank - we're just providing information for people interested in online banking options. Barclays does offer a feedback form you can try to see if you can have your problem resolved without making an expensive phone call.

I have had an Isle of Man offshore account for over 15 years. On 20 July I decided to close my account and have the balance transferred to my savings account in the US. The same account I listed when I opened the account. I mailed a letter giving the necessary data, and signatures. I followed up with 3 eMails after logging on to my Online banking account. To this day I have received no response. I don't see why this request cannot be carried out by post or Online Banking saving the cost of transatlantic phone calls. Seems like a simple request. Perhaps you can communicate with the offshore group and find out why this customer's communications are being ignored. Please advise, George Jones.
