About KlickSports

KlickSports offers a unique combination of fantasy sports and social networking. Both casual and hardcore fans can enjoy making predictions about the outcome of any game via instant messaging or text messages. Championship games offer special events like the College Basketball Championship Challenge.

KlickSports is the product of both its creators' interest in sports and their technological know-how. Kent brings a deep background in football to the table, including time as a professional athlete and business knowledge of the online sports consumer experience. For Jose, his connection is with soccer, playing on teams in his native Portugal, as well as his knowledge of online communities and applications. Kent and Jose discussed their site, as well as their thoughts on fantasy sports in general.

Fantasy Sports Interview

LoveToKnow Online: Why do you think people are so interested in online fantasy sports?

KlickSports: Fans want to connect with their favorite players, show their sports knowledge and compete with other fans.

LTK: What advice do you have for someone who is just getting started in fantasy football, basketball or any other sport?

KS: We are not a pure fantasy site - we are a live interactive game platform that appeals to fantasy fans. That said, one of the greatest values is the shared experience that you have with your friends and other fans. The best way to start is to form a free league and invite a few friends that are like-minded and want to give it a try. The weekly connectivity and banter will provide a great way to bond and provide another layer of entertainment during the season.

LTK: What are some of the best online resources for fantasy sports enthusiasts?

KS: Most major media companies, including online/broadcast TV such as ESPN and Yahoo!, have a sports division and offer fantasy games of many kinds. There are also hundreds of specialty sites and blogs that follow it as well.

LTK: Do you see an increased interest in fantasy sports around tournaments and big events like the Super Bowl, or does interest stay steady throughout a season?

KS: Interest is steady all season long and the marginal fans jump in for tournaments and playoffs.

LTK: What do you see as the most popular sports for online fantasy leagues? Any up-and-coming sports?

KS: It used to be baseball, now it is football, baseball and basketball, in that order. Auto racing, hockey and soccer are up-and-coming sports, and golf is making a run as well.

KlickSports offers a unique fantasy sports experience.

LTK: Could you tell us a little bit about KlickSports, and what special features it offers to fantasy sports enthusiasts?

KS: We provide live interactivity with most major sports teams and leagues (football, basketball, baseball and soccer) during the game, with live game alerts and predictive questions offered during every period. Fans answer a couple of pre-game questions online when they join a game, and then play via text messaging or instant messaging when the game is live. Fans play against friends and other fans and receive daily scoring alerts and game schedules via email.

Our website has an automated prediction posting feature (like Twitter) that posts every pre-game pick you make, making them visible to anyone else that is "following" you. Fans can add their favorite teams and can congregate on team pages and post comments to each other. New features will be added soon, including a premium fantasy baseball game and custom game alerts.
