Managing Your BP Account Online
Once you have a BP credit card, you can set up account access on the issuer's website. In this case, Chase Bank is the credit card issuer. There are many benefits to banking online. The BP account management site offers the following features to the company's credit card holders.
Pay Bill Online
If you're prone to waiting until the last minute to pay your credit card bills then paying your BP bill online is the answer. Your checking account is debited for the payment; there is no need to write a check or put an envelope in the mail. Pay your bill online instantly and set up future payments so you'll never miss a due date again.
Transfer Balances
Would you like to get rid of those high interest rate credit cards? When you use your BP account online you can transfer balances easily and save money as well. Account transfers will decrease your available credit.
Personalized Alerts
Set up personalized alerts on your account online, such as when certain types of transactions occur. This can help you stop credit card fraud right away. Users can decide on how they want to be alerted – by email, PDA, pager or phone.
Paperless Statements and Due Dates
Save the trees and help the environment with paperless statements. Your statements will be sent to you via email each month. Paper statements will no longer be sent to your home.
Users can also request a change in their billing date to coincide with payday.
Credit Line Increases
Users can request a credit line increase through their online account. Requests will be processed quickly and responded to via email.
Update Profile
If you move or change any other contact information, you can change it instantly when you access your account online.
Dispute Charges
When a charge appears on your account that you don't recognize or didn't authorize, you can dispute it online. Disputes initiated this way are usually resolved two weeks faster than those that are mailed in.
Customer Service
If you need to reach customer service, you can send emails to account representatives directly from your online account. This is a quick and efficient way to get answers to your questions, especially if you travel frequently.
Account Activity
One of the best perks of using the BP account online is to view your account activity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This can be helpful when you are traveling and need to know what your current balance and available credit are.
Additional Cards
BP account holders can request additional cards for family members online and also add authorized users to their account.
Safety and Online Banking
Many people are worried that banking online will compromise their personal information. Chase Bank uses SSL (Secure Socket Layering) to protect your online transactions. The information you send and receive will be scrambled and then decoded upon receipt.
Anything you do while accessing your online account will be processed through SSL. Chase Bank does not assume responsibility for information sent through other means, such as a personal email account.
Third-Party Links
Users should be aware that ads on the website for products other than those offered by Chase are not protected through SSL. The links are offered for information only and are not supported or endorsed by Chase Bank. If you want to know whether your browser is on a secure website, the beginning of the web address will be https instead of http. In addition, some browsers will also show a locked padlock in the corner of the browser signifying a secure website..

Comments
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, Brooke. Perhaps you should contact Chase directly, so they know the website is causing problems for consumers.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopThis online payment procedure set up process through Chase is, by far, the absolute worst version of banking services that I have ever experienced. I've never had to waste so much time and been so confused by an internet site in the past ten years of online banking and bill payment. Chase is handling this very badly and will only encourage me not to use the card anymore.
